Vadodara: A man was arrested for firing shots during a marriage procession in Kalol town in Panchmahal district on Thursday. A video of the incident was also shared on social media by another attendee at the marriage.
The shots were fired by Jitendrakumar Panchal from Abhlod village in Garbada taluka of Dahod district. He went to attend the wedding of the son of Rajesh Panchal from Kalol.
During the marriage procession on Thursday night, Jitendrakumar fired two shots in the air while dancing. The police came to know about the firing and were also informed about the social media post by someone.
Police identified Jitendrakumar on the same night and asked him about the gunshots. He admitted to firing two shots to the police. When asked about the firearm, he told the police that he kept it in his SUV. The police recovered the firearm with two spent and five live cartridges. He was taken into custody by the police and later put under arrest after registering an offence.
