Kanpur: Rohan of Agra clinched victory in the 30 kgs category of sub-junior boys group, defeating Adarsh of Lucknow in Samanvay sub-junior state Judo championship being contested at Green Park stadium on Friday. Shivam Sairni and Arshaan Khan of Lucknow secured third positions as semi-final runners-up.
Khushi of Meerut dominated proceedings, emerging victorious in the 57Kg+ group of sub-junior girls event. She defeated Manishvi Mishra of Prayagraj. Third positions were jointly secured by Vanora of Saharanpur and Khiyati Singh of Moradabad. Earlier, chief development officer Kanpur Nagar, Diksha Jain, inaugurated the three-day meet.
Wrestling trial - Trials for district and divisional level junior girls wrestling teams will be conducted at Rat Narayan Khel Vikas Sansthan, Lalhepur Kanpur on Dec 23.
According to regional sports officer Vijay Kumar, the selected wrestling team will participate in state level Samanvay junior girls wrestling championship scheduled at district sports office Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar Sports Stadium Mau from Dec 25 to 27, 2024. The wrestlers born between 2004 to 2008 are eligible to participate in this trial and must present their original Aadhar Card and birth date certificate.
