Lucknow: Police on Thursday issued 40 e-challans for traffic rule violations and seized seven vehicles between 4am and 6 am on Thursday, as part of the campaign to ensure public safety.
During the drive, the authorities also removed 10 unauthorized loudspeakers from religious sites, and sound levels of 45 loudspeakers were adjusted to comply with noise pollution norms.
"As per the instructions of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the police presence and security of the city was reviewed between 4 am and 6 am. Police Commissioner Amarendra Kumar Sengar, Amit Verma JCP LO, along with other DCPs of five zones including Omvir Singh DCP West, DCP Central Raveena Tyagi, Ram Nayan Singh DCP North, Shashank Singh DCP East, and Keshav Kumar DCP South, visited the city's hospitals like KGMU, Lohia, PGI, and all the prominent crossings under their zones," said a police officer.
They also visited crowded places like the railway station at Charbagh, the bus stand at Alambagh, Awadh Bus Station, Kaiserbagh, and important markets, malls, parks, religious places, and other major places to inspect the status of security management.
DCP, Central Zone, Raveena Tyagi, said that now that officers conducted a surprise inspection, police outpost incharges will take a round daily and report to their concerned assistant commissioners of police.
"It will be reviewed by senior officers on a weekly basis," said Tyagi.
