Lucknow: Reviewing law and order situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said no one should be allowed to spread anarchy in any district of the state and instructed officials to ensure that not even a single rioter from Sambhal should be spared.
"Officials should take strict action against anyone who disrupts law and order. Be it Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, Sambhal, or any other district, no one should be allowed to disturb peace," the CM said.
"Strict action should be taken against those involved in recent disturbances in Sambhal. The cost of repairing damaged public property should be recovered from culprits. Identify those spreading chaos, display their posters, seek public cooperation, and conduct intensive search operations to ensure that no miscreant escapes. Not even a single rioter from Sambhal should be spared," the CM said.
Yogi asked officials to seek explanation from all departments, commissioners, district magistrates, and police stations if their performance was found to be unsatisfactory, based on feedback received on public grievance platforms," the CM said, directing officials to regularly meet people and ensure that no poor person should face any injustice.
"All applications received through IGRS, CM Helpline, or at police stations should be attended to. The complainant's satisfaction and feedback will be the benchmark to assess an official's performance. No matter related to land measurement, land use change, and inheritance should remain pending. Resolution should occur within the stipulated time. DMs and commissioners should carry out regular reviews, and strict action should be taken against any personnel submitting false reports," he said.
With year-end parties and events expected to begin soon, the CM said that sound levels at religious places or musical events should not exceed the set standards, while loudspeakers should not operate beyond the stipulated time. "Wherever necessary, loudspeakers should be removed," he added.
Reviewing the issue of encroachment, the CM said that roads were for public use and not for storing building material, parking private vehicles, or for any other unauthorised use. "Wherever there is encroachment on public land, officials must first adopt a policy of dialogue, and DMs and police should work with local bodies to take action where necessary," he said.
"Ensure compliance of traffic rules. Traffic congestion is becoming a problem in urban areas, and local bodies should prepare solutions based on local needs. Engage in dialogue with farmers, traders, street vendors, and labour organisations. Understand their issues, needs, and expectations, and ensure appropriate resolution," Yogi Adityanath said.
To mark the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, the state govt is organising a cultural programme on Dec 6. The CM said that some disruptive elements might attempt to disturb peace that day, and given the sensitivity of the occasion, necessary arrangements should be made in every district to prevent any untoward incident.
"Good Governance Day will be celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Dec 25. Law and order must be maintained on Christmas and New Year's celebrations," the CM said.
Reviewing the preparations for the Maha Kumbh-2025, Yogi said that the event would be plastic-free, and rules should be enforced strictly. He said that visitors to Prayagraj should be advised against using tractor trolleys for travel.
"An estimated 40-45 crore people are expected to visit Prayagraj for the event, and many of them would also visit Ayodhya, Vindhyachal, Varanasi, and Mathura. Necessary preparations should be made at all these places," he said.
The CM highlighted that blankets and shelter must be arranged for people to tide over the winter season. He directed the police to assist anyone found sleeping on the roadside.
