Mysuru: Carmel Catholic Association in Mysuru will host its 32nd carol singing competition on Dec 8 at the Maharaja's College centenary hall. The event will feature 12 categories and pre-primary students to college groups and religious congregations can participate.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Joseph Mathew, president, Carmel Catholic Association, said, "With over 100 teams and nearly 4,000 participants, it promises a day filled with melodious carols sung in English, Kannada, and other regional languages. The event will commence at 8.30am and continue until 6.30pm. Each team will have 5 to 50 members."
Rev Bernard Moras, apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Mysore, will deliver an address. Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar will launch the event. IPS officer Chennabasavanna, who is director of the Karnataka Police Academy, will attend the valedictory, where Mar Sebastian Adayantharath, bishop of Mandya Diocese, will deliver the Christmas message. MK Johny, convenor, Carmel Catholic Association, was also present.
