Bhubaneswar: ‘You may be late, but come without speed and wearing a helmet', read one message on the wedding card of a man whose father has chosen the occasion of his son's nuptials to emphasise on road safety. Abhaya Kumar Das, a 64-year-old resident of Cuttack who worked with the state transport department, incorporated various road safety messages in both Odia and English languages on the wedding invitation cards. Das, who was involved in road safety initiatives for many years, explained that his connection with road safety programmes inspired this distinctive approach.
