Balasore: Four people, including three women, were injured when armed robbers stormed a house in Napanga village, Bhadrak district, attacking the occupants with sharp weapons and escaping with cash and gold jewellery worth over Rs 5 lakh.
According to sources, on Wednesday night, six armed miscreants carried out a pre-planned robbery at the house of Madhab Sethi in Napanga village under Bhandaripokhari police limits. They first let the poultry outside Madhab's house out of their cage. Hearing the birds flying and making noise, Madhab and his family members came out of the house to check.
Taking advantage of the situation, the miscreants attacked the family and robbed valuables from their house. The injured were rushed to the community health centre (CHC) in Bhandaripokhari and later discharged after primary treatment.
Upon being informed, the police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation with the help of a scientific team.
