Wardha: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) (Sharad Pawar) has suspended former MLA Raju Timande and Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) chairman Sudhir Kothari for engaging in rebellion against the party's official candidate, Atul Wandile, in the Hinganghat assembly constituency.
The announcement was made during a press conference addressed by district president Sunil Raut and state general secretary Atul Wandile on Wednesday.
Former MLA Raju Timande violated party directives by filing his nomination as an independent candidate, despite the NCP officially fielding Atul Wandile. Similarly, Sudhir Kothari faced suspension for supporting and encouraging rebellion instead of adhering to the party's agenda. These actions were deemed detrimental to party discipline, prompting decisive action.
The suspension was announced by NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, state president Jayant Patil, and state general secretary Ravindra Pawar. Party leaders emphasized that maintaining discipline and commitment to party directives remains a top priority, and any deviation will be met with strict consequences in the future.
