GJPD adds additional charges to Tuesday morning assault

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – The Grand Junction Police Department recently added more charges to the man who allegedly struck family members Tuesday morning.

Antonio Chick, 18, – who was initially charged with third-degree assault – is also facing second-degree assault with injury, harassment, criminal mischief, obstructing a police officer and two counts of violating of a protection order.

Chick, who was allegedly intoxicated, reportedly fled the scene after the incident occurred that morning. He was later located around 1:15 p.m. the same day.

He’s due in court at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday.

The police department said in a press release this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the community.
