Thiruvananthapuram: Notorious goon Aneesh, alias Pasha Aneesh, allegedly attacked a CITU member after trespassing into the CPM office at Thrippadapuram on Wednesday evening.
Kazhakkoottam police registered a case against Aneesh on the complaint of Vinod, 46, son of Thulaseedharan of Kayyalathu Veedu near Kallingal at Attipra. Aneesh is absconding.
According to the complaint, Vinod was sleeping inside the party office in the evening at the time of the attack. Aneesh demanded Vinod to handover his bike to him, when he denied it, he was attacked. "I had shared some information about his sand smuggling business to the police some years ago, and he was annoyed by it. He attacked me to avenge this," said Vinod.
Vinod also said that the accused received DYFI membership about six months ago.
Aneesh is a history-sheeter and there are over 30 criminal cases against him at various police stations. He was jailed earlier under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (Kaapa), and with the new case, Kazhakkoottam police are set to again invoke Kappa against him.
Meanwhile, the police said the complainant and the accused were involved in a criminal activity some years ago. "They are familiar with each other and engaged in a crime together. The reason for their enmity is not part of the probe, but Aneesh is booked on the basis of the complaint given by Vinod," said police.
