You can gain low level access to your computer without being physically near to it.

Let's say your machine is not booting to OS or you need power cycle the machine. You can interact with BIOS or power On/Off or reset your machine. While in OS you can have remote video output with remote keyboard and mouse inputs.

Thats cool. I have NAS in different room , that too in attic. Will help in these scenario i guess.
 
That's the use case. Or if you are on vacation and your NAS stops working, you can troubleshoot and bring it up in no time, considering hardware still works :D
