Garhwa: A criminal, Satyendra Kumar alias Satya Paswan (26), was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Gosai Bagh under Banshidhar Nagar police station area, Garhwa district, on Wednesday.
The motorcycle-borne attackers fired seven shots at Paswan, killing him instantly before fleeing the scene. Banshidhar Nagar SDPO Satyendra Narayan Singh and OC Aditya Nayak reached the spot and recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from the deceased's pocket.
Garhwa SP Deepak Kumar Pandey confirmed that Paswan was a notorious criminal with operations spanning Bihar and Jharkhand. "He had over 18 cases registered against him across different police stations, including 15 in Garhwa police station. He was previously exiled from the district," said Pandey. tnn
