Chennai: Former AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam urged the state govt to provide compensation for the people affected by the Fengal cyclone immediately.
In a statement on Tuesday, he said the affected districts incurred heavy losses. Hence, compensation should be given without waiting for the national disaster response fund.
Each affected family should be given 5,000, partially damaged huts 25,000, and fully damaged houses 50,000.
A compensation of 40,000 per acre should be given for paddy, and 35,000 per acre for cash crops like jackfruit and cashew, he said.
