Lucknow: A 26-year-old nursing student in Lucknow accused her brother-in-law's relative of raping her and subjecting her to physical abuse over several months. The accused, who is married with three children, allegedly threatened to kill the survivor if she reported the assault.
The incident came to light after the victim confided in her sister, who then filed a complaint at the Chinhat police station. According to the survivor's sister, the accused, originally from Ayodhya, exploited the victim for months. He works as a taxi driver in Lucknow. The accused first lured the woman to a room under false pretences, where he raped her. He allegedly threatened to kill her if she disclosed the assault and sent her back home. The survivor's sister revealed that for the past month, the accused was pressuring her to marry him.
SHO, Chinhat, Bharat Pathak, said an FIR was filed and the accused was arrested.
