Ranchi: A six-member delegation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is set to commence a three-day evaluation of Ranchi University (RU) for institutional grading with an early morning conference on Thursday.
RU vice chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha stated, "The team would decide on methods to inspect the university. We can only give our suggestions. We had B ++ in the last assessment. We are aiming to get better grade in this assessment."
University officials indicated that the NAAC team's primary task would be to physically verify the self-study report (SSR) submitted by the university. RU has submitted the SSR covering five academic years from 2018-19 to 2022-23.
The assessment process will include multiple presentations by RU departments and administrative divisions before the committee. The delegation will also conduct visits to various university departments.
It is significant that NAAC accreditation serves as the foundation for university funding under Rashtriya Uchhya Siksha Abhiyan.
According to sources, NAAC has independently arranged accommodation and meals for committee members. RU received the committee members' names shortly before their arrival on Wednesday.
