Prayagraj: The UP Police have enlisted social media influencers, technocrats and students to enhance social media effectiveness during the Maha Kumbh, aiming to facilitate devotees' spiritual journey.
A team of police officials, led by Additional SP Rahul Srivastava is planning to develop short videos focusing on traffic and disaster management protocols which will be shared across social media platforms to guide devotees travelling to the tent city from various regions of country.
Additional DG (Prayagraj zone) Bhanu Bhaskar told TOI "Senior officers have planned informative short videos covering crowd management, traffic systems and emergency protocols. A plan was also chalked out on the formation of a cyber patrolling team to prevent cyber fraud, check rumour-mongering, and address AI-generated fake videos, etc, in mela area."
The authorities are also working to safeguard pilgrims from fraudulent websites offering online bookings for Maha Kumbh facilities while raising awareness through various technological means.
UP Police technical experts will conduct specialised training to boost social media influencers' technical proficiency before Maha Kumbh.
Plans include creating and distributing instructional videos about the mela premises using influencer'' technical expertise.
