T'puram: Health minister Veena George met the affected child and other inmates of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Thycaud in the state capital and assessed its operations.
The minister said the attitude of all caregivers, who have joined the CWC at different times, will be evaluated. Police verification will be done regarding other positions. "This is not just a job. As far as new appointments are concerned, preference will be given to those who can care for children with a motherly mindset," said George.
"Incidents of abuse against children are being taken seriously. The women and child development department's principal secretary is carrying out a detailed investigation into the CWC incident. Such incidents will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action will be taken against offenders," the minister said. CWC general secretary G L Arun Gopi accompanied the minister.
