Chatra: Four interstate smugglers were arrested from Paradih-Badhar Road on charges of transporting 80kg marijuana, valued at Rs 50 lakh in the market, from Odisha to Bihar on Sunday, police said.
The arrested peddlers were identified as Abhishek Kumar Tiwari and Bablu Kumar from from Gaya district in Bihar, Sanju from Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh, and Ramesh Takia from Khandwa in MP.
Officer in-charge of the Sadar police station, Vipin Kumar, said, “Acting on inputs received by SP Vikas Kumar Pandey, a team, led by SDPO Sandeep Suman, reached the location and found the consignment hidden in 80 packets in a car and four bikes. Four smugglers were arrested, while two escaped.” TNN
