T'puram: Close on the heels of the Supreme Court finding abuse of power and favouritism by the state govt in the appointment of former Chengannur MLA K K Ramachandran Nair's son, state Congress chief K Sudhakaran has demanded the immediate resignation of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
"Nepotistic appointments are a right for govt employees, and ministers do not have the power to grant them to party members or relatives," Sudhakaran said.
The Pinarayi govt appointed numerous party members through favouritism and nepotism. Almost all university appointments were given to the wives of DYFI leaders. Ministers like E P Jayarajan and K T Jaleel had to resign over nepotistic appointments. Sudhakaran pointed out that the chief minister supported all these actions, making his resignation imperative, he said.
