Jaipur: With the onset of winter, Tibetan garments market has once again been set up in the city, this time at Shri Jhulelal Market in Mansarovar. Tibetan merchants have established 266 stalls this season and prices of woollen garments are up by 2%-3% this year.
President of Shri Jhulelal Tibetan Market, Lhamo, said the market opened later than usual this year. "We traditionally establish our market by Oct, but this time we set it up late in Nov. Nevertheless, we anticipate robust sales this year. Substantial visitor footfall has started in the previous week," Lhamo said.
Distinctive varieties of woollen garments are available in the market this year, Lhamo said. "Garments fashioned from hair wool are remarkably supple and lightweight whilst exceedingly effective against the cold. Money wool attire is marginally weightier, featuring elongated fibres, rendering them exceptionally warm even in severe cold. Mehr wool amalgamates both characteristics, delivering resilience and cosiness," she said. The Tibetan market also sells footwear and handicrafts. It will remain open till Feb.
