Amritsar: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh on Monday accused chief minister (CM) Bhagwant Mann of subjecting him to mistreatment and crossing all boundaries.
He also announced to reveal the entire situation and expose those responsible for “actions” against him. Reacting to the decision of Sikh clergy with regard to sacrilege incidents, he said, “Whatever happened at Akal Takht is a trailer, there is more to come, the truth will be revealed and everyone (who) indulged in this will be exposed.”
Expressing relief after the Sikh clergy’s decision, the MLA from Amritsar North said he had been personally handling sacrilege cases through his legal team. Acknowledging he might not win the fight, he said he would continue to pursue it, believing justice would ultimately come from Guru Gobind Singh.
Kunwar was a member of the special investigating team (SIT) probing the 2015 Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan police firing cases. “It has now been proved our report was annulled. The report was submitted to the sessions court in Faridkot, but was cancelled by the high court...Today, it is clear the culprit has admitted to his crime, and their (his) culprit family has acknowledged their wrongdoing. For Punjab and its people, there is hope justice is finally being delivered,” he added.
He also questioned Mann, asking, “As per the confession of culprits , will you present the report in court? If you do, I will believe you are still committed to bringing justice."
He also took a dig at Mann and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. He recalled when he joined AAP , both Mann and Kejriwal assured public justice would be delivered in Bargari sacrilege case and the officer who had investigated the case will personally ensure justice. However, Vijay Partpal claimed that Mann never deemed it necessary to even talk to him on the matter, despite his efforts, including a visit to the CM’s residence.
He also accused former CM Capt Amarinder Singh of subjecting him to mistreatment, stating: “What Captain did to me, Bhagwant Mann has surpassed. When the time comes, I will reveal everything—how I was tortured. It is God’s will that I am alive today,” he said.
