Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagde said on Monday that India had the oldest culture in the world. Addressing a programme organised on the foundation day of Jharkhand, Nagaland and Assam at Raj Bhavan, Bagde said there were important references about places in these states in ancient Indian texts.
He remembered Birsa Munda and said Jharkhand was the country's leading state in preserving tribal heritage.
Referring to the history of Nagaland and the culture of Assam, he called for learning from the traditional arts of these states.
The governor interacted with residents of these states to know about their work and felicitated them at Raj Bhavan.
He said the purpose of celebrating the foundation day of these states at Raj Bhavan was to directly experience the concept of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
The governor also shared his insights on important aspects of the culture, art, and life in these states. PTI
