The Bokaro district administration is taking steps to mitigate traffic congestion by identifying land for a Transport Nagar, developing a solid waste management facility, and evaluating land for the Kolkata-Amritsar industrial corridor. Deputy commissioner Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao has instructed the allocation of 20 acres for Transport Nagar and is working on urban infrastructure enhancement and land valuation re-evaluation.
BOKARO: The district administration has initiated its efforts to identify land for a Transport Nagar to reduce traffic congestion, expedite the development of a solid waste management facility and assess land valuation for the proposed Kolkata-Amritsar industrial corridor.
On Tuesday, Bokaro deputy commissioner Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao held a meeting with officials of the Bokaro Steel Limited. The meeting was aimed at assessing crucial development projects and enhancing urban infrastructure, the DC said.
The DC instructed Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) to allocate 20 acres for Transport Nagar to resolve heavy vehicle parking-related traffic issues. She also requested BSL management to locate suitable land in collaboration with the circle officer (CO) Chas.
She also reviewed the progress of the Solid Waste Management (SWM) unit installation for proper waste disposal in the township. BSL management informed that the matter awaits SAIL board approval.
Additionally, she enquired about the valuation assessment of land identified for the Kolkata-Amritsar Industrial Corridor. She directed officials to conduct a thorough re-evaluation of the land value and submit their findings to the district.
The deputy commissioner also addressed city beautification, traffic system improvements through barricade installation, NOC for Collectorate building construction, road encroachment removal, and alternative water supply schemes for BSL plant and township. She provided necessary guidance to the relevant officials.
