Rajkot: A 21-year-old man, Sarfaraz Bhatti, was arrested by Atkot police for the alleged repeated rape of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, after he was caught in the act by the girl's mother.
Police said that the victim, a Class 10 student, met Bhatti on Snapchat six months ago. After communicating on the social media platform for a while, they arranged a meeting.
During this encounter, Bhatti allegedly took compromising photographs with the minor. He later went to her residence when she was alone, showed her the photographs and demanded sexual acts. When she refused, he threatened to circulate the photos online. He subsequently forced her into sexual activity multiple times.
The victim's mother caught Bhatti in a compromising position with her daughter and filed a complaint at Atkot police station for offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and rape under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
