Madhepura: An assistant teacher recruited through BPSC and posted at Parasmani +2 High School in Babhni village under Gamhariya police station in Madhepura district, was found dead in his rented room on Tuesday morning in what is suspected to be a case of suicide. Police said the body of Praveen Kumar, son of Mangal Mandal, a resident of Pirpaiti in Bhagalpur district, was hanging by a rope from the ceiling fan.
Local block pramukh Shashi Kumar said Praveen did not attend school on Tuesday without any prior information. "When the headmaster dialed his phone number, it was found switched off. Following this, two other teachers who were out buying electrical items for the school were asked to visit Praveen's room to check on him. Upon reaching the room, they found it bolted from the inside and, suspecting something was wrong, called a blacksmith to open the door," he said.
"We informed the local sarpanch, pramukh and other villagers before unlocking the room," said one of the teachers. Inside, they found Praveen hanging from the ceiling fan.
