Hyderabad: Major General Ajay Misra took over as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) at Secunderabad on Dec 1.
The General Officer was commissioned into the ‘Regiment of Artillery' in 1992. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the Higher Command Course, Army War College, Mhow. He also attended the NDC course at the National Defence College, New Delhi.
Major General Ajay Misra has vast staff and operational experience, with a keen eye on the northern borders. He commanded his Regiment and Brigade on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He also has rich joint services experience. He was twice awarded the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card. After taking charge, the General Officer said he would enhance the operational preparedness of TASA. TNN
