Daltonganj: An 11-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old man at a village in Palamu district on Monday. The rape survivor's mother lodged a FIR with police on Tuesday.
In her complaint, the survivor's mother has a neighbour, as the accused, who is absconding.
He had taken the minor girl to a farm field adjoining her home in the evening and committed the crime. Talking to TOI on Tuesday, police said the accused raped the girl in a field of pulses.
"The incident occurred on Monday evening. The rape survivor has been admitted to a govt hospital and is undergoing treatment. A case has been registered against the culprit under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and Section 65 of BNS. The accused tried to escape to Allahabad but could not and went into hiding."
