Hyderabad: Advisor to the state govt, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Raj Bhavan. He briefed him about the implementation of 4% Muslim reservations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Shabbir Ali informed the governor that over 20 lakh socially and economically backward Muslims in the two Telugu states benefited from the four percent quota since the 2004-05 academic year.
The senior Congress leader also briefed governor Jishnu Dev Varma about other schemes being implemented by the Congress govt for the welfare of minorities in Telangana.
"Chief minister A Revanth Reddy recently launched 28 integrated residential schools that would benefit thousands of students from SC, ST, BC, and other minorities," Shabbir Ali added.
