Who is BTS’s eighth member? This remains a deep question by fans. According to Pinkvilla, the group’s leader, RM, disclosed the riddle underlying the speculation.

Fans find great resonance in the slogan “BTS is 7,” which represents solidarity and the members’ indelible bond. However, ARMYs have made amusing guesses about a “eighth member” over the years, leading to lighthearted rumors and inside jokes among fans. Some fans believe the additional member is the result of amusing pauses in BTS’s images, which appear to be an invitation for someone to join them.

RM wrote a heartfelt letter to supporters via the 2022 BTS Fan Kit. Although his remarks expressed appreciation for the support that ARMYs offer and the solace that his music offers, his opening remarks were the highlight of the event.

“To ARMYs, the eighth member of BTS, thank you so much,” RM wrote.

The seven members of the South Korean K-pop group BTS include RM, Suga, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, and J-hope. Jin is one of six members who is now serving in the military as a result of their required enlistment.

Since its 2013 debut, the boy band has grown to become one of the most well-known K-pop groups worldwide. Dynamite, Butter, ON, Black Swan, Blood Sweat Tears, and others are some of their defining songs. Additionally, the trio is the first K-pop artist to receive a Grammy Award nomination.

Jin hosted a special event to meet the fans during the group’s two-week celebration of FESTA, which marked the group’s 11th debut anniversary on July 13, 2024.
