Chandrapur: A state transport (ST) bus travelling from Pulgaon to Gadchiroli met with an accident near Saoli on the Chandrapur-Gadchiroli national highway due to a technical failure in the steering mechanism. The incident occurred around 12 noon on Sunday, resulting in minor injuries to two or three passengers.
The bus, belonging to the Pulgaon depot, was en route to Gadchiroli when its steering system locked near the Saoli bus station. Noticing the issue, driver Pradeep Shirsat attempted to control the vehicle by applying the brakes. Despite his efforts, the bus veered off the road, creating panic among the passengers. However, the driver's prompt action and application of brakes prevented a major mishap, as the bus was eventually stopped by a tree.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Saoli police rushed to the spot. The injured passengers were taken to a hospital, while the remaining passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their journey.
