Ludhiana: A fire broke out at the “maalkhana”of Sarbaha Nagar police station in Ludhiana late on Sunday evening, gutting around 40 to 50 confiscated motorcycles. Police officials said that the fire broke out at around 8.20pm. Responding promptly, the fire department managed to extinguish the flames within half an hour using two fire tenders. The “maalkhana” area reportedly accommodated around 100 confiscated vehicles, and approximately half of them were damaged in the fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but fire officials said that the area was overgrown with weeds and littered with garbage, which may have contributed to the spread of the blaze.
