AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Public Safety released details Sunday about a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that followed a Nov. 29 “confrontation” between two drivers.

According to DPS, 45-year-old John Paul Ramirez and another driver exited their vehicles near US 290 and Nutty Brown Road in Hays County. The agency did not release details about what caused the confrontation.

During the incident, Ramirez “fell into the eastbound lane and was struck by an oncoming vehicle,” DPS said. First responders transported him to an Austin hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
