Thiruvananthapuram: The city corporation distributed certificates to 396 students who completed job-oriented computer courses through the Human Resource Employment & Development Centre (HREDC). These courses offer a full fee concession for Scheduled Caste members and a 75% concession for others based on income criteria.
The event, held at the EMS Open Air Auditorium, was inaugurated by mayor Arya Rajendran and was chaired by development standing committee chairperson Shajida Nasser.
Ward councillor Palayam Rajan delivered the welcome address, while HREDC director Ravindran Nair expressed gratitude. The mayor also honoured city resident Ashwaghosh Saindhava for exposing a digital scam group. She noted that his efforts serve as an inspiration for raising awareness about online fraud.
Welfare standing committee chairman Clainz Rosario, ward councillors, and corporation staff attended the event.
