Bathinda: Punjab recorded 22 new stubble burning cases on Saturday, pushing the count to 10,909. Fazilka reported maximum of six cases followed by four in Kapurthala. A total of 12 of the 23 districts reported stubble burning. Environmental compensation of over Rs 2.15 crore has been imposed in 5,494 cases till Nov 28, out of which Rs 1.27 crore has been recovered. A total of 5,437 red entries have been marked, while 5,770 FIRs registered under Section 223 of BNS.
