New Delhi: LG VK Saxena on Sunday visited and oversaw the functioning of a special camp organised by DDA for on-the-spot disposal of applications under Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-Uday), at Shyam Vihar in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh. Local MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat and former area MLA and Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot also accompanied LG.
In a social media post, LG said he distributed the certificate of ownership or the conveyance deed to 40 residents of various unauthorised colonies, whose applications were disposed of at the special camp. "Ten such camps were organised in different unauthorised colonies across Delhi. I directed officials to dispose of the 62,000 pending as well as fresh applications, in a mission mode," LG said in the social media post.
He added that the special camps have a ‘single window clearance mode' with facilitation for documentation and their uploading on the portal, scrutiny, notarisation, and other ancillary activities, along with on-the-spot regularisation of their properties in a flexible and humane manner. "The large turnout of people in these camps and their appreciation is indeed motivating and strengthens our commitment to give ownership rights to lakhs of people living in Delhi's unauthorised colonies," Saxena wrote on X.
According to DDA, the camps received a great response on day one, as a large number of people visited them to sort out issues related to the scheme. The authority, in a statement, said that 414 new registrations were done, whereas 411 pending applications were cleared from deficiencies. "In all, 113 applications were approved and 83 conveyance deeds and authorisation slips were executed in various unauthorised colonies," the authority said in a press statement.
The DDA said the camps will be held every Saturday and Sunday from Nov 30 to Dec 29 in the 10 processing centres located inside these unauthorised colonies.
