Ara: The body of a 17-year-old youth, Vikash Kumar, was found hanging from a tree at Bhadwar village in Chandi police station area of Bhojpur district on Sunday morning.
The SHO in charge of Chandi police station, Nasim Khan told this newspaper on Sunday that the family members of Vikash alleged that he was killed over a love affair with a girl.
They alleged that Vikash secretly left his house at about 3am on Sunday to allegedly meet his girlfriend. However, his body was found at about 5.30am hanging from a tree, said the SHO in charge .
He said that no injury marks were found on the body.
"The police have sent the body to the Sadar Hospital Ara for postmortem. The cause of death will be known after arrival of the autopsy report. Till Sunday, Vikash's family did not register complaint with the police station. However, the police are investigating the case on their own."
Meanwhile, talking to reporters Ritesh Kumar, the elder brother of the deceased, said: "For the last one and a half year my brother was having a love affair with a girl. Four days ago, there was a quarrel between my brother and the girl's family. They had asked my brother not to meet the girl."
