Udupi: A man lost nearly Rs 3.8 lakh after he clicked an APK file that he received. In the complaint, Jayaram, 69, a resident of Shivalli village, said that on Nov 28 at 3.30pm, he received an APK file on his WhatsApp.
Upon clicking the file, the accused allegedly siphoned Rs 3.8 lakh from his bank accounts into their own. Jayaram became aware of the unauthorised transaction after receiving a notification at 8pm, realising he was a victim of fraud. A case has been registered at the cyber crime police station.
