Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the govt will give a compensation of 20 lakh per acre for the lands farmers surrender for development and creation of jobs. He also urged his cabinet colleagues to approve 1 lakh crore (at the rate of 20,000 crore per year) development budget for combined Mahabubnagar district.
"I am the son of the soil. I am one among you. Why do you fall prey to the opposition parties' tactics, which are blocking the development of this backward Palamuru (Mahbubnagar district and Kodangal assembly constituency). After 70 years, a son of Mahabubnagar has again become the chief minister. Do not let this opportunity slip away. I know the problems and needs of this district, and it's my responsibility to irrigate 20 lakh acres by completing irrigation projects, bringing industries, and creating at least 30,000 jobs in Kodangal constituency alone," CM Revanth Reddy said.
Addressing a public meeting in Mahabubnagar organised in connection with Rythu Panduga celebrations, the CM said farmers will lose land for development and jobs, but their children will get jobs, which will change the lives of future generations for the better. "Of the two lakh acres in Kodangal, 1,300 acres are needed for the industrial corridor," CM Revanth Reddy said.
The CM said: "Those who fell in the opposition trap in the Lagacharla incident are now in jail. I cannot do anything as there are 182 cases against me, despite being a chief minister. Law is equal for all everyone."
