Prayagraj: Get ready to dive into the confluence of crafts, art, and culture at the 12-day National Shilp Mela being organised at the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) from Dec 1. The fair will offer all the attraction from across India with regional folk arts, songs, music, dances, clothes, craft products, and regional cuisines. The fair will conclude on Dec 12.
The cultural programmes will commence with Shankhnaad, Ranshna, and Chadya dance by Pavitra Mahapatra and a dance troupe from Odisha, and will end with Shumar dance by artists of Sonbhadra.
Every year, in the national crafts fair, artist groups, craft artisans, and traders from all the seven zones of the cultural centre operating in the country come with clothes and decorative items. In the Haat, artists from different states dress up as different deities like Shiva, Hanuman, Radha Krishna, or animals which is as attraction for children.
The fair will include cultural dances with drums and impalas, kaachi ghori under colourful umbrellas, and flute players of Haryana. This time, the centre has extended the duration of the craft fair from 10 to 12 days.
