Begusarai: The Begusarai police on Sunday arrested two criminals for their alleged involvement in a recent loot at a fuel station under the Balia police station area of the district.
"A police team headed by Balia SDPO identified one of the criminals as Sikam Yadav alias Rana. He was arrested near an embankment in Sadanandpur village under Balia police station. During interrogation, Sikam revealed the identity of his accomplice, who was later nabbed from the same area," Begusarai SP Manish said.
The police recovered over Rs 11,000 of the looted cash, two cellphones, an iron shaft used in the assault as well as the clothes and shoes worn during the crime. "Sikam is a resident of Balachak village under the Balia police station area," the SP said.
Sikam and his associate had assaulted Mukesh Kumar Singh, a staff member of the fuel station, and looted Rs 45,000 from the cash drawer during the incident.
