Nagpur: The two-day ‘Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Boot Camp' for school teachers got under way at GH Raisoni College of Engineering (GHRCE), Nagpur, on Friday. The camp is being organised by GHRCE in association with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC), Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).
The inaugural ceremony was held on Friday at GHRCE which was graced by chief guest Manoj Daigavane, joint director of technical education, Regional Office, Nagpur. Officials from the School Innovation Council (SIC), MIC, and AICTE Umesh Rathod, Vibham Vyas, and Prakash Nimbalkar from the Wadhwani Foundation were also present along with senior officials from GHRCE Sachin Untawale, director and nodal centre head, Santosh Jaju, deputy director and dean of R&D, and Dinesh Padole, nodal officer.
The ceremony commenced with preamble reading by Jaju, followed by a welcome address by Untawale, who highlighted the evolution of the education system from traditional methods to contemporary approaches.
In his keynote address, Daigavane emphasised the role of educators in fostering a culture of innovation among students. He encouraged teachers to embrace the challenge of cultivating creativity and entrepreneurial thinking in their students.
The boot camp witnessed participation from over 250 stakeholders, including school teachers, principals, and associated members from various schools of Maharashtra. The event provides an invaluable platform to exchange ideas and practices aimed at integrating innovation into the education system towards the journey of Viksit Bharat 2047. Vote of thanks was presented by Kapil Jajulwar, dean SAC.
