Prayagraj: To increase the grandeur of Maha Kumbh, the Nishadraj mini cruise, equipped with modern facilities, has reached Prayagraj and is presently docked at the Boat Club of Sangam city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel from Arail to Sangam on this vessel on Dec 13 and will also perform Ganga Aarti.
This mini cruise will remain here until Maha Kumbh to provide panoramic tour of Sangam to the devotees reaching here for the grand event.
This 20-metre-long mini cruise, equipped with many features and a seating capacity of 60 passengers, was built in Kochi shipyard. The cruise brought to Varanasi in Jan and has now been brought to Prayagraj for the 45-day Maha Kumbh.
A team from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has been deployed to take care of the Nishadraj cruise. Tight security arrangements have been made for the cruise near the new Yamuna bridge.
Along with it, Kasturba mini cruise and Punpun Mini Cruise have already been brought to the city. ADM Maha Kumbh mela Vivek Chaturvedi said that this mini cruise is operated by battery and will offer tour to tourists coming from across the country and abroad. The Uttar Pradesh govt wants to give the devotees a divine experience of the grandeur of Maha Kumbh with such attractions, he said.
