Noida: Ten people were arrested on Saturday for clashing and resorting to firing following a dispute over a construction contract at Maycha village in Sector Ecotech 11.
The altercation between the two groups — one led by Sumit Bhati and the other by Vishal — escalated from verbal abuse to a physical assault and firing in the air. According to police, the clash involved 20 people.
The apprehended accused include Sumit Bhati (30), Sonu Bhati (38), Anuj (26), Gaurav Nagar (21), Sudhir Bidhuri (24), Neeraj Bhati (24), Rakam Singh (55), Naveen Bhati (27), Vishal Bhati (24), and Pappu alias Shyam Singh (48). All are residents of Maycha or nearby villages, with several having prior criminal records.
"The Dadri police acted swiftly to arrest those involved in the clash. During the investigation, we recovered a 32-bore pistol from Pappu, one of the accused, and live ammunition used in the crime. We are committed to ensuring law and order and will not let such incidents go unpunished," said ADCP (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar.
A case was registered under BNS sections 191(2) (rioting), 190 (unlawful assembly), 109 (attempt to murder), 115(2) (causing hurt voluntarily), 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), and 3(5) (common intention), Section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act (molesting a person to prejudice of employment or business), and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
