Prayagraj: The Prayagraj division of the railways has decided to use drone surveillance to ensure safe and smooth train operations during Maha Kumbh-2025.
Efforts are being made on a large scale to keep a close watch on the railway tracks to prevent any mishaps during the grand religious event. A meeting was also convened under the chairmanship of North Central Railway (NCR) general manager (GM) Upendra Chandra Joshi on Thursday at the auditorium of Prayagraj Mela authority. All aspects of train operations during the 45-day-long event were discussed here with the police and administration officers.
In view of the the recent past incidents wherein unscrupulous elements had placed cylinders, stones, iron rods, concrete sleepers, etc, on railway tracks, the the railway administration is on alert mode. And maintaining tight vigil on railway tracks for security of passengers arriving in Maha Kumbh has become one of the most important agendas for the authorities.
In the meeting, railway officials stated that a record number of trains will be operated for the ease of devotees this time . For the safety of passengers, Prayagraj Division has decided to use drone cameras for the security of the tracks. The Prayagraj division will work in collaboration with the police for security of the tracks.
It was informed at the meeting that the railway administration is marking the places near the stations where passengers generally cross the tracks to reach the station and it was decided to close all such sites. The progress of work on all ROBs, RUBs, the movement plan inside the station, and the movement plan from the Sangam area to all stations of the Prayagraj area were also discussed at the meet. Also, all the stations will be connected to the ICCC to improve the communication system regarding information of the status of special trains in Maha Kumbh.
Divisional railway manager (DRM) Himansu Badoni, IG RPF AN Singh, divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, mela adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand, district magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mander and others attended the meeting.
