A farmer, his wife, and their IT professional son were brutally murdered by burglars at their farmhouse in Semalai Goundenpalayam village in Tirupur district. The armed intruders attacked them with deadly weapons, looted gold ornaments, and fled the scene. The incident was discovered the next morning, and a police investigation is underway.

COIMBATORE: Three members of a family were brutally murdered by armed burglars at their farmhouse in Semalai Goundenpalayam village at Avinashipalayam in Tirupur district in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased were identified as Dheivasigamani, a farmer, his wife Amalathal, and his son Senthil Kumar, an IT firm employee.
Police said Dheivasigamani and his wife Amalathal were engaged in agriculture and were residing at the farmhouse. Their son Senthil Kumar was working in an IT firm in Coimbatore city. He was residing with his wife and children in Coimbatore. Senthil Kumar visited his parents and was staying with them at the farmhouse on Thursday night.
Dheivasigamani noticed movements of strangers and came out of the house in the early hours. Meanwhile, the unidentified persons assaulted him with deadly weapons and murdered him. Amalathal walked out of her house to see her husband, and the unidentified persons murdered her on the spot.
The gang entered the residence where Senthil Kumar was sleeping. They assaulted him with deadly weapons, and Senthil Kumar died on the spot.
The gang looted gold ornaments from the house and managed to escape.
The triple murders came to light around 7 am on Friday. The farmers alerted Avinashipalayam police, who rushed to the spot. Additional Superintendent of Police Balamurugan and his team also inspected the crime scene.
