Chandigarh: Youth Akali Dal (YAD) president Sarabjeet Jhinjer also condemned the incident of an Amritdhari Sikh being denied entry at Jhilmil metro station in Delhi for carrying a kirpan. Jhinjer called it “a clear violation of our democratic right to practice our faith”. He emphasised the significance of the kirpan in Sikhism, stating that it was very sacred to Sikhs. “It’s not just a symbol of our faith, but also a reminder of our commitment to justice and protection of the innocent,” he added. “I demand that AAP-led Delhi govt and BJP-led Centre ensure immediate action is taken against erring officers,” he added. tnn
