Lucknow: Encouraging semi- and low-skilled workers from Uttar Pradesh undergoing skills tests at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Aliganj, for employment opportunities in Israel, Minister of Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Aggarwal said that the recruitment drive would boost their careers and expand their global prospects.
Launched on Nov 26, the India-Israel Drive 3.0 will conclude on Dec 3 and is expected to send around 5,000 workers to Israel. To date, over 9,000 workers from Uttar Pradesh have secured jobs in fields such as construction, mall management, and technical roles in Israel, earning monthly salaries ranging from Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.
To enhance their skills, the govt is offering language and skill improvement training programs to help workers perform better in their roles and succeed in the global job market, a govt spokesperson said.
Rajkumar Yadav, principal of ITI Aliganj, said that nearly 1,300 workers had undergone skill testing so far, with the process set to continue until Dec 3 to meet the target.
