Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday (November 28) took oath as a Lok Sabha MP following her thumping victory in the Wayanad bypoll.

In a rare instance, three members of a family will be seen in Parliament. Her brother Rahul Gandhi is Lok Sabha MP from Amethi and her mother Sonia Gandhi is a Rajya Sabha MP.

Holding a copy of the Constitution in her hand, Vadra took oath in Hindi.

She won with a margin of more than 4.1 lakh votes and surpassed the tally of her brother Rahul on the seat.

Her entry into Parliament comes at a difficult time for the party, which has been jolted by electoral defeats in Haryana and Maharashtra.

Her children Miraya and Vihaan also witnessed the event in the Parliament.

Another Congress leader Ravindra Chavan, who won the Nanded bypoll, took oath in Marathi. The bypoll was necessitated following the demise of his father Vasantrao Chavan recently.
