Udupi: A student drowned in Durga Falls near Karkala on Thursday. The deceased is Joel, a BCom student. According to police, preliminary information suggests that the incident took place when a group of students arrived at the falls and were playing in it. It is suspected that Joel slipped and fell. Police were informed. A search was launched and the body was retrieved. A case is being registered at the Karkala police station.
