Jaipur: State police headquarters (PHQ) on Thursday introduced a new feature, ‘Need Help', under the RajCop Citizen App to provide immediate police assistance to women during emergencies. The feature will ensure women in distress quickly access police help and receive real-time updates about the assistance being provided, officials said.
ADG (civil rights) Malini Agarwal said the app offers two services for women seeking assistance: emergency help and non-emergency help. When a woman requests emergency help, the notification is routed to the 1090 control room in Jaipur. Upon approval by control room personnel, the victim receives an acknowledgment on the app. The control room team contacts the victim to understand the issue, or, if the victim opts not to receive calls, a team is dispatched directly to the location.
Jaipur control room informs the Abhay Command Centre, which forwards details to nearest police station. Police personnel or the closest 112 vehicle are sent to the victim's location. tnn
